Florida rapper Julio Foolio was tragically killed in a shooting in Tampa, according to his lawyer. Police reported that gunfire struck four people in a hotel parking lot early Sunday, resulting in one fatality believed to be Foolio pending medical confirmation. The 26-year-old, legally known as Charles Jones, was identified by his legal representatives. Foolio had been celebrating his birthday when the incident occurred, as noted by lawyer Lewis Fusco. According to a statement quoted by a local CBS News affiliate, Fusco described the musician as "reportedly ambushed" in the hotel parking lot.

Earlier, Foolio and his guests were asked to leave an Airbnb due to exceeding occupancy limits, forcing them to relocate. The rapper had been documenting the celebrations on Instagram, noting that police had intervened. The shooting, which occurred around 04:40 EDT (09:40 BST), damaged two vehicles, with three others injured and hospitalized in stable condition. Foolio, with nearly a million monthly listeners on Spotify, is known for tracks like "Voo Doo."

In April, he had shared on Instagram about recent tragic events, including "multiple attempts on my life." Local media indicated he had been open about his gang associations. Authorities are seeking public assistance in their investigation into the incident.
